about

A song I originally wrote and recorded for my best friend's birthday in 2023, but they said I could share it with the rest of the world. I tweaked the lyrics and rerecorded the vocals then redid the mix. Their favorite band is the Front Bottoms, and they eventually wore me down into liking them, too, so I guess this song is my attempt at that style of music.

lyrics

well the time together we just had was simply such a blast
but like all good things they never seem to last
well it's only been a couple of days but I'm wishing we could go back
'cause the working week ain't thrilling me but soon it will come to pass

'cause the weekend
is just around the bend
and we both know
what we'll be doing again

we'll sit around talking for hours
because there's nothing better to do
but that's okay with me 'cause
I love doing nothing with you

we've been doing this together now for so many years
that our friends and our families think it's kind of weird
but they can talk all they want it's not what it appears
when we spend our time together it makes the troubles disappear

the good times
are so sweet but so brief
but we'll take
any momentary relief

like sitting around talking for hours
'cause there's nothing better to do
but that's okay with you 'cause
you love doing nothing with me, too

does this really have to be anything more?
'cause right now we're absolutely sure
that all that we want
and all that we need
is me and you
and you and me

I'll see you next weekend and the weekend after that
and the weekend after and the weekend after that
